Mariners reject Parky reports

Grimsby have played down reports linking Andy Parkinson with a move to Chester.

Grimsby have played down reports linking Andy Parkinson with a move to Chester.

Chester chairman Stephen Vaughan had claimed the club were monitoring Parkinson's position at Grimsby.

"Andy has done well for Grimsby this season, and our management team are very interested if he becomes available," Vaughan told the Daily Post.

"We are aware his contract at Grimsby expires in the summer, so we are monitoring events.

"If we could get him in before the end of the season then that would be of interest, but we will just take things step by step."

Grimsby have reacted to Vaughan's comments and insist Parkinson is staying at Blundell Park as he has another year to run on his contract.
