Chester put pair up for sale

Mark Wright has made Jermaine McSporran and Graham Allen available for transfer.

Chester manager Mark Wright has made Jermaine McSporran and Graham Allen available for transfer.

Wright confirmed to the club's official website that he had transfer listed the pair, with neither player likely to feature in his first team plans this season.

The City boss wished both players well, but felt a parting of the ways would be in everyone's best interests.

"Jermaine needs to play in a 4-4-2 formation, but we don't play that system, so he's a little bit lost and we've circulated his name," said Wright.

Former Everton and Tranmere player Allen, meanwhile, has been made available as the club are currently well stocked in defence.

"Graham Allen has not featured so far and, with Phil Bolland and Sean Hessey both due back, I don't think I need six centre halves," Wright added.

"It's a bit unfair on Graham, but we've circulated both names and we want them to do well."
