Yeo breaks Bury resolve

Chester's Simon Yeo won and dispatched a last gasp penalty to seal a win over Bury.

Chester City striker Simon Yeo won and dispatched a last-gasp penalty to break Bury's resolve in a 1-0 win for the home side.

A lacklustre game looked to be heading for a stalemate when a minute from time Bury captain Dave Challinor needlessly hauled down Yeo.

It was Chester that always looked the likelier to garner a three-point haul against a Bury side heading in the wrong direction, with Roberto Martinez twice going close.

Bury substitute Glyn Hurst went close to breaking the deadlock but he missed his kick when presented with a late chance and his inability to convert proved costly as Yeo calmly showed him how to do it.
