League One round-up

Scunthorpe and Northampton both recorded wins on their travels.

Scunthorpe and Northampton both recorded wins on their travels, while Swansea and Yeovil shared the points on a busy Friday night in League One.

Northampton looked to be heading towards their fourth defeat of the season when Dave Hibbert fired bottom club Rotherham ahead after just seven minutes at Millmoor.

However, two late goals from Scott McGleish (74 and 82) sealed a surprise turnaround and propelled The Cobblers out of the relegation zone and up to mid-table.

Rotherham, who began the season with a 10-point deduction, have picked up some good results so far but remain seven points adrift of their nearest rivals.

Two more strugglers met at The Priestfield Stadium, where Gillingham entertained Scunthorpe, and it was the visitors who came out on top.

Richard Hinds broke the deadlock for Scunthorpe on 40 minutes and the lead was doubled by Matthew Sparrow on the stroke of half time.

Gillingham battled hard in the second half but could not get back into the game and succumbed to a 2-0 defeat.

Yeovil could have moved third with victory at Swansea but had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Veteran striker Marcus Stewart, who only joined The Glovers on loan this week, made a perfect start for his new club by firing them ahead after 53 minutes.

Swansea responded quickly though, a Lee Trundle penalty (64) ensuring a point for the Welshmen.
