Arabs eye Dodds reunion

DUNDEE UNITED are reportedly close to luring Rangers striker Billy Dodds back to Tannadice.

Dodds, 33, has made just one start for Gers this season and that has prompted a number of SPL clubs to enter the race for his services.

Hibernian and Livingston have been credited with an interest in the experienced attacker but Dundee United are in the driving seat.

The SPL strugglers are thought to already be in talks about bringing back the fan favourite and may offer Scottish international Steve Thompson as part of a swap deal.

Scottish international Dodds, left Dundee for Ibrox three seasons ago in a £1.2 million deal.

The diminutive striker started his career at Chelsea before a dazzling loan spell at Partick Thistle led to a permanent move to Dundee.
