McLeish open to offers

Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan and Steven Thompson could both leave Rangers.

Rangers boss Alex McLeish has admitted Jose Karl Pierre-Fanfan and Steven Thompson could both leave the club in January.

McLeish is looking to trim his squad and raise money so that he can bring in some fresh faces for the second half of the campaign.

French star Pierre-Fanfan has struggled to establish himself at Ibrox since his summer arrival from Paris Saint Germain and could be making a speedy exit from Glasgow.

Thompson has failed to hold down a regular place in McLeish's starting XI and with his current contract coming to an end Rangers could decide to cash in on him.

McLeish admitted he would be willing to listen to offers for the pair when the transfer window reopens on Sunday.

"It's tough for the strikers like Tommo who are not starting the games but we need a squad. If it came to the end of January and there were people interested then we would listen," said McLeish.

"But I am in no hurry to get rid of him. I think Tommo would look at the situation and ask where he is in the pecking order.

"As I said to Fanfan, some players may not fancy the situation of not being first or even second choice.

"You just have to wait and see what unfolds. I don't know if he would like to move on but I think he would like to play regular football."
