Pars move to third

DUNFERMLINE ATHLETIC moved to third in the Scottish Premier League with a convincing 4-1 victory over Partick Thistle at East End Park.

Goals by Scotty Thomson, Barry Nicholson and a Stephen Crawford brace secured the points for The Pars.

Jamie Mitchell scored a consolation penalty for the visiting Jags, who had David Lilley sent off ten minutes after half-time for serious foul.

Aberdeen came from behind to defeat Motherwell 2-1 at Fir Park, thanks to goals by Derek Young and Eric Deloumeaux after a James McFadden penalty initially put Terry Butcher's side in front.

Dundee got goals from Gavin Rae and Fabian Caballero to earn a 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Dens Park.

Jim Jeffries' men got a late consolation through Samuel Boutal but it was not enough to peg back the deficit against The Dark Blues.

Hibernian got goals from Garry O'Connor and Ian Murray to earn a 2-1 victory over Dundee United at Easter Road.

Steven Thompson scored a consolation for The Terrors, who remain second from bottom in the SPL table and only two points clear of bottom club Livingston.
