Derby joy for Hearts

Hearts secured bragging rights in the Scottish capital with a win over Hibs.

Hearts secured bragging rights in the Scottish capital on Sunday when thumping local rivals Hibernian 4-0.

The Jambos were in control from the moment Rudolf Skacel opened the scoring on 13 minutes, but it was not until the second half that they put the game out of Hibs' reach thanks to strikes from Paul Hartley, Stephen Simmons and Saulius Mikoliunas.

Hearts returned to the top of the SPL table with the win and were full value for the three points.

Czech Republic striker Skacel netted the opener, showing predatory instincts to bundle the ball home after Calum Elliot's effort fell into his path.

Hartley doubled the advantage shortly before the hour, ramming home from the penalty spot after Stephen Glass had handled in the box.

Simmons made the game safe 20 minutes from time with a clinical finish and Mikoliunas completed the scoring on 83 minutes with a stunning drive from all of 30 yards.
