More to come after Murray

Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies has is looking to strenghten his squad further.

Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies has his eye on two more players following defender Grant Murray's capture from Partick Thistle.

The 30-year-old former Hearts man impressed the Rugby Park boss at pre-season training in Italy, but the coach does not plan to stop there, with Australian defender Trent McClenahan (pictured) and Motherwell midfielder Keith Lasley also under close scrutiny.

Twenty one-year-old McClenahan was released by West Ham United at the end of last season after spending time on loan at League One relegates Milton Keynes Dons.

Jefferies is expected to make a decision on the youngster by the weekend, with Lasley also in his sights.

The Scottish midfielder moved to Plymouth Argyle two seasons ago under Bobby Williamson and will be hoping to make a return to the Scottish Premier League for the coming campaign.

Murray, meanwhile, will play his first game for Killie as a contracted player in the Ennstone challenge cup on Saturday against Elgin City.
