Terrors ban Scotland

Dundee United have banned Jason Scotland over fears he may be deported.

Dundee United have been forced to ban Jason Scotland from Tannadice Park over fears the striker may be deported.

The Trinidad & Tobago international's future with The Terrors has been left in doubt after the player was refused a work permit by the Scottish Premier League last month.

The former Defence Force hit-man is back in the UK on a week-long visa, but after appearing at the club this week, Scotland was told he would not be allowed to train with the Tayside outfit, as that would break the rules of employment.

The striker is hopeful the issue can be resolved by the end of the week, with United due to begin the SPL campaign on July 30 against Aberdeen.

"In the end, they agreed to give me a week, so I must get things sorted out by Friday," Scotland told the Daily Record.

"They told me I could not train because that would be working."
