Troyes target Nee

TROYES have drawn up a short-list of targets as they look to sign a new striker.

The Championnat strugglers are keen to bolster their fire-power as they bid to climb away from trouble at the wrong end of the table.

Lyon ace Frederic Nee is Troyes coach Faruk Hadzibegic's top target and talks over a six-month loan are reported to be underway.

Bordeaux front-man Christophe Sanchez, Nantes star Pierre-Yves Andre, Guingamp's Cedric Bardon and Paris Saint Germain's unsettled Laurent Leroy have also been linked as possible alternatives to Nee.

Despite the need for a new striker, Troyes chairman Daniel Vacelet is refusing to panic over making a new signing.

"We don't panic, but it is an urgent need," said Vacelet. "We should get answers during this week, but the players we contacted have probably got other solutions.

"Perhaps they are waiting for answers from clubs posher than us to make their definitive choice."

Meanwhile, Hadzibegic is hoping to have loan signing from PSG Selim Benachour available for this Wednesday's game with Lille.

The Tunisian playmaker missed the chance to make his debut against Auxerre last week and Hadzibegic believes that Benachour can kick-start their season.

"I am relying on him for Wednesday against Lille," Hadzibegic told France Football. "I am expecting a lot from Selim.

"I hope he will bring us his vision in the game. We are missing a technical touch."
