Lyon have suffered a blow with the news that Eric Abidal has been ruled out for three months.Abidal sustained a broken foot during Lyon's pre-season tour to South Korea.
The injury occurred during Lyon's 1-1 draw with Colombian outfit Once Caldas.
"I did not feel anything when it happened. Then I left for the hospital and I have been told I could be out for 12 weeks," Abidal told the club's website.
Meanwhile, the game also saw Chelsea-target Michael Essien sent off late on for a second yellow card.
