Cris admits Lyon frustration

Cris has admitted he endured a torrid time in his first few months with Lyon.

Lyon defender Cris has admitted he endured a torrid time in his first few months with the French side.

The Brazilian international felt he was played out of position by his manager, Gerard Houllier, but is now more comfortable with his situation at The Stade de Gerland, despite continued speculation linking him with a move away from the club.

"I felt nervous," he admitted to L'Equipe.

"I don't know why I reacted that way. For sure I was not happy with my performances.

"Those last weeks, I was less strong, I won less tackles. I didn't give enough to the team.

"I can't hide my changing of position has disturbed me. But I already played on the left in Brazil.

"When the coach came to ask me if I could help him, I said yes.

"But I love to play on the right. On the left, I am less at ease, it changes everything."

The 31-year-old has featured 31 times for Lyon this season, and despite his discontent, he still continues to deny talk of a rift with his manager.
