Gillot wants Cousin answers

Lens coach Francis Gillot has reacted angrily to Daniel Cousin's comments.

Lens coach Francis Gillot has reacted angrily after Daniel Cousin declared he was looking to leave the club.

Cousin said earlier in the week that he was unhappy with his lack of playing time at Lens.

"I would like to leave. I can't see myself in a Lens shirt next year," he told the French press.

"I am not happy with my number of minutes on the pitch and it is time for me to leave."

Gillot has not appreciated Cousin's comments and admits the striker has stirred up a serious situation.

Cousin will be called in to explain himself, with Gillot at a loss as to why he might want to leave the second-placed club in Ligue 1.

"Maybe we also don't want him for next season. That would be logical, wouldn't it?" said Gillot.

"Things can't always go in the same way. That is grave, very grave.

"When you watch the club, and its league position, I can't understand. But everybody sees their own interests.

"But don't worry about it, he will quickly explain himself to the club."

Speculation suggests Real Betis could be interested in signing Cousin at the end of the season.
