Captain Gregory Tafforeau has publicly criticised Lille's salary structure.
Lille's recent struggles on the pitch have now been exacerbated by criticism of the club's salary structure by captain Gregory Tafforeau.The club have slumped to eighth in Ligue 1 after a run of six defeats in eight games, and discontent in the dressing has also surfaced with Tafforeau acting as its public voice.
The skipper has attacked Lille's paymasters for failing to improve wages despite the club's recent success in the domestic league and in Europe.
Lille currently operate a system that provides a lowly basic wage but with generous bonus payments.
"Speaking about wages, I have lost my time," Tafforeau told Le Journal du Dimanche.
"I am 30-years-old and I am more demanding, as is every player here.
"The officials talk about being a big club, but we are waiting for the wage conditions to follow.
"A lot of players have asked for an adjustment, even the younger ones.
"Before, everyone remained quiet. They went too far, the club can't grow all alone."
Meanwhile, Lille defender Nicolas Plestan has been linked with a summer move to either Bordeaux or Auxerre.
