Stuttgart are reportedly pondering a move for Real Zaragoza striker Ewerthon.Bundesliga champions Stuttgart are considering a move for Real Zaragoza's unsettled striker Ewerthon, according to reports in the German media.
Stuttgart coach Armin Veh is keen to strengthen his squad for next season's UEFA Champions League campaign and finding a new forward will be his main priority after Swiss international Marco Streller was allowed to rejoin FC Basel.
Brazilian Ewerthon is a well-known figure in the Bundesliga after he enjoyed a successful spell at Borussia Dortmund before Zaragoza captured him in 2005.
Gerhard Poschner, the player's agent, confirmed that Ewerthon is keen to leave the Spanish outfit, but played down expectation that a move to Stuttgart could be imminent.
"The player is looking for a new challenge, but Zaragoza does not seem interested in letting him leave at the moment," Poschner told Stuttgarter Nachrichten.
As Zaragoza plan to keep the pacy forward, who is tied to the club until 2010, an offer in the region of é¼10million (£6.8million) could reportedly tempt the club to change their mind.
Any deal for Ewerthon would only spark further speculation over the future of Stuttgart striker Danijel Ljuboja, who has made clear his desire to leave the club.
The Serbian international has been linked to Toulouse, Olympiakos and Napoli, and concedes he is open to all offers.
"I am ready to discuss with the first club that calls me," Ljuboja told Football365.fr.
"If an ambitious French club shows interest, it can suit me. An agent called to propose me to join Toulouse, but I haven't been in contact with them. It doesn't mean I am not interested.
"I have two concrete offers, but Olympiakos haven't agreed financially.
"Napoli made an offer to Stuttgart, the directors would like to make a partnership with Antonio Cassano, we will see what happens."
