L'OM set to sign Sychev

RUSSIAN World Cup star Dmitry Sychev is on the brink of signing for French giants Marseille.

The gifted attacker is currently in the final weeks of his suspension for walking out on Spartak Moscow, but an amicable solution seems near to completion.

Spartak president Andrej Chervichenko has announced that a ‚é¼6 million deal has been struck with Marseille, and Sychev should complete the move when his suspension ends in early January.

The news will come as a relief to all parties, as Spartak will finally secure some money for one of the brightest talents in European football.

It will also enable Sychev to get his career back on track, after it hit the buffers when he walked out on Spartak.

Dinamo Kiev have also been in the race, as Sychev had been training with them, but it appears that the Ukrainians will be pipped at the post by l`OM.

The Velodrome outfit have come back from the brink of relegation last season to be challenging for the French title, and a fit and focused Sychev will add a new dimension to their attacking play.

If the formalities can be completed, Marseille will fancy their chances of winning Le Championnat.
