Valencia target Taiwo

Valencia could offer Pablo Aimar as a sweetener in an attempt to sign Marseille full back Taye Taiwo.

The Spanish club are reportedly keen to sign Taiwo and are exploring means of arranging a deal.

With Marseille likely to lose Franck Ribery to Lyon in the near future, the French giants are loath to sell another key player.

But reports suggest l'OM could be willing to accept Taiwo's departure, if they are offered a part-exchange deal.

To that end, Argentinian playmaker Aimar is being tipped to be used as a makeweight in Valencia's bid for Taiwo.

The Che's sporting director Amadeo Carboni is rumoured to be meeting with the Nigeria international's agent next week.

Taiwo impressed at the African Cup of Nations earlier this year and has also been linked with Chelsea and Internazionale.
