Marseille chairman Pape Diouf has confirmed the club are sticking with coach Albert Emon, despite their weekend thrashing by Toulouse.L'OM slipped to eighth in Ligue 1 following a 3-0 loss on Saturday, prompting talks Emon could face the bullet.
However, Diouf does not feel a change of the helm would help the team's fortunes on the pitch and has called on the squad to improve mentally.
"Jose Anigo (director of sports) has spoken to the players and reminded them of our objectives," he told AFP. "If we consider the weekend results, we had a bit of luck.
"We are three points off the third place. But we plan to work hard to stop that negative form that we've been experiencing for a couple of weeks.
"If I believed that Albert Emon's departure would help us to improve or would change things radically, I would replace him today. If Albert's still here, it's because of the circumstances.
"I feel that our problem is not technical, tactical or physical, but psychological. For me, the best coach is the one that is able to obtain the best of every player."
Djibril Cisse has come under fire from disgruntled supporters following a string of below-par displays and Diouf may have a word with the striker to resolve the drought.
"For Djibril Cisse, the essential mission, the supreme mission is to score goals for his team," he added. "A chat could be useful in the interest of the group."
