Algerian captain Yazid Mansouri has agreed to join Ligue 1 new boys Lorient.

The talented African moves to the Stade du Moustoir on a two-year deal from Chateauroux, despite having a year remaining on his contract with the Ligue 2 club.

Mansouri will bring a vast amount of experience to Lorient having played in France's top division earlier in his career as well as racking up over 30 caps for Algeria.

"Mansouri is experienced, thanks to his years in Ligue 1, and he is willing to revive his career at a higher level," coach Christian Gourcuff said.

"He has shown a lot of pace with Chateauroux, he has an assured style.

"Like (new signings) [David] Mbodji and [Fabrice] Abriel, he is one of the best Ligue 2 players."
