Radet eyes Auxerre exit

By Patrick Haond
Johan Radet has confirmed his intention to quit Auxerre and is prepared to sit out his contract to gain his wish.

The full back's deal expires in June 2005 but Radet is eager to leave Stade Abbe-Deschamps this summer in search of a fresh challenge.

Radet has been a virtual ever-present for Auxerre this term and concedes the club may be reluctant to submit to his demands at the end of the season.

If that proves to be the case, the 27-year-old will have no qualms seeing out the remaining months of his contract and leave Auxerre on a free transfer.

"I think it is time for me to discover something new and I would like to leave Auxerre in June," Radet told France Football.

"Usually in this club, you get a transfer only when you have one year remaining on your contract.

"Now, if I can't leave next season, I will leave for free one year later.

"I had propositions and I still have some.

"I now want to go on improving and discover a new type of football. Here, it is a little bit of the same humdrum routine.

"Some months ago, the officials made me a proposition but it was not fair.

"I expect more gratefulness and I didn't get it. I was disappointed with that. But I am a professional and I keep my moods for me."
