Yepes sad for fans

Mario Yepes has revealed his anguish at having to miss PSG's relegation battle.

Mario Yepes has revealed his anguish at having to miss Paris Saint Germain's battle against relegation.

The defender broke his ankle in PSG's 1-1 draw with Marseille on Sunday as he challenged for the ball with Djibril Cisse.

He has been ruled out for the rest of the season and will have to see how PSG's campaign unfolds from the sidelines.

And Yepes is upset that he will not have the opportunity to repay the fans who have offered him their kindness this week.

"I am sad and disappointed for the team and the fans," Yepes told the club's official website.

"This is really the worst time to be injured.

"During the last three days I have noted that I counted for a lot of people.

"I received a lot of sympathy messages and I want to thank all those people.

"Unfortunately I can't answer everybody, but all those messages have made me feel better."
