Nantes rocked by revolt

Nantes have found themselves involved in a player revolt.

Nantes have found themselves involved in a player revolt after they tried to discipline goalkeeper Mickael Landreau.

Landreau launched a stinging attack on chairman Jean-Luc Gripond earlier this week claiming he had ruined the team.

The keeper's outburst infuriated Nantes officials and they tried to ban Landreau from taking part in training for a week.

After hearing the news the rest of Nantes squad refused to train in an act of support towards Landreau.

The move by the players saw the club relent on their decision to ban Landreau and the keeper admitted things had been heated at the club during the meeting between players and officials.

"On Wednesday, it was very heated," admitted Landreau

"Nothing was predicted about the players' reactions. But we will all show solidarity until the end.

"The mission is to save the club."

Nantes officials are set to meet next week to discuss coach Loic Amisse's position with the club languishing near the foot of the table in Ligue 1.
