Zaragoza line up Barca star

Zaragoza want to replace Valencia-bound David Villa with Barca's Sergio Garcia.

Real Zaragoza are hoping to replace Valencia-bound David Villa with Barcelona's Sergio Garcia.

Garcia spent last season at relegated Levante where he managed a total of seven goals.

He does not feature in the plans of Barca's coaching staff and the Catalan outfit are looking to offload him on a permanent deal this summer.

Zaragoza, who look certain to sell David Villa to Valencia in the coming days, are leading the chase, but are not prepared to pay the ‚é¼3 million asking price Barca have put on the player's head.

"If Zaragoza are really interested in him they will have to reach an agreement with Barcelona," the player's agent Magico Diaz stated.

"It's true that other teams have asked about him as well and we are considering everything carefully."

One player definitely on his way out of Zaragoza is goalkeeper Luis Garcia.

The custodian only joined the club from Numancia last summer, but failed to claim the number one jersey as expected and is now being allowed to move on a free transfer.

He will sign a four-year deal with Getafe and conceded he was disappointed things had not worked out at La Romareda.

"It hurts that they are getting rid of me because I am sure I could have convinced everyone of my worth," he stated.

"But I am also happy to be starting a new adventure that excites me."
