Edmilson blow for Barca

Edmilson is a doubt for Barcelona's Champions League tie at Levski Sofia.

Barcelona's injury crisis shows no sign of relenting with the news that Edmilson is a major doubt for the must-win UEFA Champions League clash against Levski Sofia.

The Brazilian midfielder was struck down with a knee injury in Sunday's 3-1 win over Real Zaragoza after colliding with Alberto Zapater, and is now expected to be out of action for a minimum of ten days.

Edmilson has already been withdrawn from the Brazil squad to face Switzerland on Wednesday after confirmation of his injury from his national side, and will definitely miss the Liga tie with Real Mallorca on Sunday.

The former Lyon star is now a major doubt for Barca's trip to Bulgaria as they attempt to beat Werder Bremen to second place in Group A and keep their hopes of retaining the European Cup alive.

Frank Rijkaard's side are currently two points behind the German outfit but go into next Wednesday's clash with a number of absentees due to injury.

Edmilson's Brazilian compatriot Juliano Belletti is absent due to a knee injury, whilst the Camp Nou outfit are also without attacking trio Javier Saviola, Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi.
