Sevilla have finally reached agreement with Daniel Alves over a contract extension.The Brazilian wing-back is now poised to ink a revised deal that ties him to the Primera outfit until 2012.
Despite already being under contract at the club until 2011, Sevilla were keen to offer him improved terms to ward off numerous suitors including Liverpool and Barcelona.
Following extended talks between club officials and the player's agent, Jose Rodriguez Baxter, Alves has declared himself happy to commit to the extra year.
Indeed, the 23-year-old insists he is delighted to be signing the new deal with the reigning Uefa Cup holders.
"I am very happy because everything is perfect at Sevilla," he stated.
"We have won titles and this season could be more important still for us."
Alves, who can operate at full-back or on the right of midfield, has developed into one of Spanish football's star performers in recent seasons and is being tracked by a number of Europe's biggest clubs.
He joined Sevilla from Brazilian outfit Bahia back in 2002 and has been a fixture in their first-team virtually ever since.
