Grav issues sorry to Gabi

Thomas Gravesen has apologised for the tackle that injured Gabi on Sunday.

Real Madrid hard man Thomas Gravesen has apologised for the tackle that could have curtailed Getafe midfielder Gabi Fernandez's season.

Getafe secured a famous 2-1 win over Real on Sunday, but the victory came at a cost as the signs are suggesting Gabi will play no further part in their season.

The 21-year-old came off worst following a challenge with Gravesen, with early reports saying he has suffered damage to the ligaments in his left knee.

Gravesen has claimed he never set out to hurt the Atletico Madrid loan star and says he is sorry Gabi has been injured.

"It was a strong challenge but I never set out to injure anyone, especially playing football," the Dane told Radio Marca.

"I feel terrible that Gabi is injured and all I can say is sorry.

"I am only interested in winning games, not hurting people.

"It is always sad when someone gets injured, but these things happen in football."
