Real eye Adriano assault

Real Madrid have reportedly made a ‚é¼50 million approach for Adriano.

According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid have stepped up their attempts to make Adriano their latest galactico with a ‚é¼50 million approach to Internazionale.

Los Merengues are reputedly content to offer their own Brazilian star Ronaldo as a makeweight to facilitate any deal with the Coppa Italia winners.

Real have been tracking the progress of the sensational forward for some time, and have already been in intense negotiations with the Nerazzurri this summer regarding Argentine duo Santiago Solari and Walter Samuel.

Now it appears they have signalled their intent to raid Giuseppe Meazza for the striker who lit up the Confederations Cup with his powerful and penetrative attacking play.

Real coach Wanderley Luxemburgo is a keen admirer of his countryman and is looking to further increase his complement of South Americans after already completing the captures of Uruguayan duo Pablo Garcia and Carlos Diogo.

However both Adriano and his club have always reiterated their desire to continue their fruitful partnership to date, particularly in the face of intense interest from Premiership champions Chelsea.

It also remains to be seen whether Internazionale would be keen to welcome back Ronaldo after he departed the club under something of a cloud to move to the Bernabeu in 2002.

Furthermore Roberto Mancini's striking options have been seriously reduced by the shock departure of Christian Vieri to city rivals Milan, and he is unlikely to countenance losing the player who claimed a total of 28 goals last season.

Indeed Mancini is actively looking to increase his roster of attackers and has been linked with a move for Roma starlet Antonio Cassano.

The talented forward has also drawn admiring glances from Serie A champions Juventus, and the Nerazzurri could be ready to step in should the opportunity for a deal present itself.
