Real split revealed

Robinho's agent claims that Real Madrid's dressing room is currently divided.

Robinho's agent has claimed that Real Madrid's dressing room is currently divided by a split between the Spanish and Brazilian players.

Indeed, Wagner Ribeiro went on to add that the two cliques made life impossible for coach Wanderley Luxenburgo who was sacked on Sunday.

"There is a problem in the dressing room between the Spaniards and the Brazilians," declared Ribeiro.

"(Ivan) Helguera, Guti and Raul don't get on with the Brazilians and that made it very difficult for Luxemburgo to work."

Real currently have four Brazilians on their books; Ronaldo, Robinho, Roberto Carlos and Julio Baptista, but it seems they have become rather isolated.

They caused a stir earlier in the season with a series of celebrations (pictured) that were labelled disrespectful by some observers, including Helguera who stated that he would have been left incensed had he been playing for the opposition team.

Those divisions appear to have increased as the season has progressed and there is little doubt that dressing room disharmony has played a part in Real's patchy form this term.

However, Ribeiro, in a statement that is even less likely to endear himself to those at the club, went on to insist that club president Florentino Perez had to shoulder the blame for his team's woes having assembled an unbalanced squad.

"I admire Florentino and consider him to be a man of his word, but he is to blame for this crisis," he continued. "Real Madrid has an unbalanced squad."
