Che move for Mora

Valencia have moved to replace Andres Palop with Juan Luis Mora.

Valencia have moved to replace departing keeper Andres Palop with Juan Luis Mora, after the 31-year-old agreed to move from Levante on a free transfer.

Mora was an ever-present for Levante as they were relegated from La Liga this season, and has now joined city rivals Valencia on a three-year deal - subject to a medical.

Che manager Quique Sanchez Flores has snapped up Mora to provide cover for current number one Santiago Canizares, after Palop signalled his intention to leave Estadio Mestalla as the club failed to match his increased wage demands.

The 31-year-old also grew frustrated at his lack of opportunities under Spanish international Canizares, stating his desire to leave was: "Because of the few opportunities in the last seasons."

Valencia had been understood to be tracking Racing Santander's Dudu Awat and Malaga's Juan Calatayud, but the signing of Mora could now end their interest in the top flight duo.

Calatayud recently admitted that he had received no firm interest from the deposed Liga champions, with Che general manager Javier Subirats now achieving his aim of bolstering his goalkeeping options within the week.

"I do not know of the proposition directly and only by the news in the press," said Calatayud.
