Kluivert is searching for a new club after being told he was allowed to leave Valencia after just one season in Spain.

A return to England appeared to be a possibility but PSV now look like bringing him back to his homeland.

Talks are already well underway between the two parties and if all goes to plan, the former Newcastle man will pen a deal at the Philips Stadion before the transfer deadline.

Meanwhile, Sao Paulo striker Diego Tardelli has agreed a season-long loan switch to PSV.

"This will be my second time playing in Europe and I am very happy because I will be player for at least a year in Holland with an important team like PSV," Tardelli said.

"Emerson Leao wanted to take me to Corinthians but I know the supporters of Sao Paulo wouldn't have forgiven me.

"I have decided to accept the one-year deal at PSV."
