The 25-year-old has been a virtual ever present in Atletico's backline, and has formed an impressive partnership with Pablo Ibanez - himself a target for Juventus.
Perea's agent Marceloa Betnaza has informed Los Rojiblancos that Inter have made a concrete offer for his client and is awaiting a response.
Atletico do not want to lose the South American and, following his excellent displays, were planning to improve his contract anyway.
The interest of Inter is only likely to speed up talks, although Betnaza insists the player is happy to stay at the Vicente Calderon.
"Perea wants to continue in Madrid, but we need to cover many questions," he told AS.
The defender's buy-out clause stands at some ‚é¼20 million, and he is under contract until June 2008 with Atletico.
