Recreativo in control

LIGA basement club Recreativo Huelva have moved a step closer to securing some silverware after registering a 2-0 win over Osasuna in the first leg of their Copa Del Rey semi-final.

Osasuna themselves are struggling, meaning the game was of real importance to both teams, but it was home side Recreativo who snatched the advantage.

Recreativo started well and were rewarded when Ignacio Benitez`s effort went in off the post on 17 minutes.

The goal prompted Osasuna to come out of their shell, but they failed to break down an organised Recreativo rearguard.

Brit went close to levelling the scores, but was dismissed shortly afterwards for aiming abusive comments towards the referee.

Osasuna looked like escaping with a one-goal deficit, but Raul Molina popped up with a sensational strike in injury-time to give Recreativo a cushion.
