Depor play down Sevilla talk

Joaquin Caparros does not think Sevilla will move for Cesar or Pablo Amo.

Deportivo boss Joaquin Caparros has played down talk that Sevilla are planning to move for defenders Cesar and Pablo Amo.

Sevilla, Caparros' former team, have been granted an extra month by the LFP (Spanish Football League) to sign a player following Sergio Ramos' 11th-hour move to Real Madrid on Wednesday.

The player they bring in has to be already playing the Spanish league and reports have suggested they might try to move for either Amo or Cesar, both of whom are not in the first-team picture at Depor at present.

However, Caparros insists Sevilla would have to pay the players' respective buy-out clauses to prise them from the Riazor, something he does not see as realistic.

"For me, the 25 footballers that we have registered are our best players," he explained.

"Pablo Amo and Cesar are exactly the same as the rest.

"I have spoken with Monchi and I don't think Sevilla will be trying to sign them.

"If they do so, they will have to pay their buy-out clauses and then Sevilla, who have a lot of money at the moment, would have to transfer it all to us."

Caparros also revealed that Depor had rejected a big-money bid from Internazionale for defender Jorge Andrade before the deadline.

"There was an offer that a lot of people know about from Inter for Jorge Andrade and Deportivo stood firm."
