Victor blow for Depor

Deportivo La Coruna will be without midfielder Victor until the New Year.

Deportivo La Coruna will be without midfielder Victor until the New Year.

The 29-year-old sustained a thigh injury in last weekend's 1-0 win over Cadiz and will now be sidelined for around two or three weeks.

Tests have shown he has a minor tear in his right thigh meaning he will miss this weekend's Galician derby with Celta Vigo and the home match with Espanyol on December 21.

The news will be a blow for Depor boss Joaquin Caparros who has seen his team hit their stride in recent weeks.

However, Caparros admits the blow has been softened by the winter break which means Victor will be fit for the first match of the New Year at Athletic Bilbao on January 8.

"Although it is bad we are happy because he will only miss two games and then we will have him back again," Caparros stated.
