Victor seals Greek move

Panathinaikos have won the race to sign Spanish midfielder Victor.

Panathinaikos have beaten off a host of other clubs to capture the signature of Spanish midfielder Victor.

The 30-year-old, a free agent after his contact at Deportivo La Coruna expired at the end of last season, has inked a two-year deal with the Greek outfit.

He had attracted the interest of Bolton and West Ham, but is believed to have settled on Panathinaikos because he was only offered trials by the Premiership duo.

Victor, who was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool back in January, has also declined several offers from clubs in Spain.

He will reportedly earn ‚é¼1 million (£700,000) a year for Panathinaikos, and is delighted to have secured the switch.

"My objective was to play in Europe and the Greek option was the most interesting one for me this summer."

Victor spent seven years at Depor but failed to agree a new deal with the Liga giants.
