Real Betis have moved to sign French winger Ludovic Delporte from Osasuna.The 26-year-old left midfielder is a hot prospect, having led the Spaniards to fourth in La Liga last season.
Contact has been initiated between the clubs though, despite interest from Ligue 1 side Bordeaux.
Delporte is contracted to Estadio El Sadar until June 2007 and the draw of UEFA Champions League football may well decide his fate.
The French outfit qualified for Europe's top club competition by way of a second place finish in the league, whereas Osasuna will have to qualify for the tournament in the summer.
But Betis finished 14th, and so Delporte must decide on the level he wants to play at either in his homeland or Spain.
