Berizzo to stay with Celta

Argentine defender Eduardo Berizzo has agreed a new deal at recently-relegated Celta Vigo.

The South American stopper will put pen-to-paper on a new two-year contract at the Balaidos - according to his agent Hugo Buitrago.

Buitrago revealed the 34-year-old has consented to a reduction in his wages to stay at the Galician outfit.

"Berizzo was very interested in staying with Celta so I respected his decision," stated Buitrago.

"The only thing that remains is for him to sign his new deal with Celta, and that will happen when he returns to the club on July 8."
