Sociedad show four the door

Real Sociedad have informed four players that they will not be offered new contracts.

Real Sociedad have informed four players that they will not be offered new contracts for next season.

Veteran goalkeeper Alberto, defender Sergio Boris and midfielders Oscar De Paula (pictured) and Jose Javier Barkero are all out of contract this summer and no longer feature in the club's plans.

With Nihat Kahveci and Mark Gonzalez also leaving the club in the coming weeks, it means Real are set for a major overhaul of their playing staff.

Alberto, 37, claims to have offers on the table and admits he is attracted by the prospect of a move abroad.

Barkero has been left particularly disappointed by his predicament and admits he is ready to listen to offers from any team, including Basque rivals Athletic Bilbao.

"I have not felt valued here," Barkero blasted.

"I don't have any offers right now, but I hope they arrive, from whoever, including Athletic which would be an option.

"I want to play and be important and that was not possible here."
