Frey plays down Inter return

Parma goalkeeper Sebastien Frey has moved to dampen talk of a return to Inter.

Parma goalkeeper Sebastien Frey has moved to dampen talk of a return to Internazionale.

Frey has been linked with a January switch to Giuseppe Meazza following Francesco Toldo's inconsistent form this season.

The French shot-stopper initially left Inter for Parma in 2001 but is now being mooted for a return to the Nerazzurri.

The 24-year-old, who has also been strongly linked with Manchester United, has refuted suggestions that he will leave Parma in the New Year.

He admits he is still a fan of Inter but has received no contact with club officials regarding the possibility of replacing Toldo in Roberto Mancini's team.

"These are rumours," stated Frey to Telelombardia. "I feel good at Parma.

"Inter are a team I still have in my heart because they allowed me to come to Italy a few years ago.

"It's a pity not seeing them at the top level.

"Contact with Inter officials? This summer I casually met Massimo Moratti because we were on holiday in the same place but I haven't had contacts, this is certain."
