Veron eyes Juve scalp

Internazionale midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron is confident his side can beat Juventus.

Internazionale midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron is confident his side can beat Juventus on Sunday.

Both Italian giants have enjoyed impressive starts to the new campaign, with Inter travelling to Turin aware that a win would see them top Serie A.

The Nerazzurri have won their last two meetings with the Old Lady and Veron is confident that they can make it a hat-trick of successes at the weekend.

The game has generated plenty of excitement in Italy but Veron is keen to emphasis that the championship is very much in its infancy.

''It's a face-to-face that if we won, would allow us to arrive at first place,'' Veron told the Corriere dello Sport.

''But we are only at the beginning of the league. It isn't a title or a decisive match for the league.

''We cannot allow it to become more important than it is. In a final you can win or you can lose and individual episodes are decisive.

''But the league is different, it's longer and there are always difficulties. A negative day, like we had in Palermo, can happen to anyone.''
