Juan looking to learn from Italy

Juan has explained he hopes to learn from life in Serie A after joining Roma.

Juan hopes to learn from life in Serie A after swapping Bayer Leverkusen for Roma.

The Brazilian international - currently preparing for the Copa America in Venezuela - joined the Giallorossi for £4.2million on Thursday to end his five-year stay in Germany.

Roma will present the 28-year-old with a new challenge, and Juan is keen to get to grips with the tactical battles that characterise Italian football.

"I had a good period in Germany during five years in the same way it had been at Flamengo," Juan told the Brazilian press. "But now I wanted to move to another country and I am very happy with my transfer to Roma.

"What seduced me to play in Italy is that there are many differences in the way that Italians play compared to Germans.

"Italian football is much more tactical so I expect that I can improve and learn more about tactics and techniques.

"I think that the Italian league is as good as the Spanish and English leagues. They are in my opinion the best three leagues in the world.

"I am very happy with this transfer. Roma is a giant European team so I expect to have the same success that I had in other teams."
