Negro eyes Lazio stay for life

LAZIO defender Paolo Negro has admitted he could be ready to pledge his future to the club.

The Italian international has been linked with a move away from Lazio in the past with Chelsea credited with an interest in his signature.

The 30-year-old revealed he is happy with life at the Roman outfit and that he could end his career at the Stadio Olimpico.

"I am very fine here, and I could end my carreer with this team," said Negro. "I doubt a footballer could find a better situation than the one we have at Lazio."

The former Bologna ace is confident that current Lazio boss Roberto Mancini is the right man to lead the side to success as he has similar qualities to former coach Sven Goran Eriksson.

"I think he is the right man to lead this team," said Negro. "He is very similar to Eriksson, even though the relationship between the players and Roberto is different because for many of us he is still a team mate.

"He also listens to all the players and what they have to say."
