Lazio face injury woe

By Nadia Carminati

Lazio coach Roberto Mancini is struggling to find able-bodies for a tough weekend Seria A clash with Internazionale.

Experienced Italian goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi is the latest name to declare himself unfit for the encounter - with Dejan Stankovic, Claudio Lopez and Simone Inzaghi already definite Lazio absentees and Sergio Conceicao also likely to miss out.

Peruzzi underwent scans this week on a troublesome left thigh injury that is likely to keep him out until the new year.

Portuguese winger Conceicao injured his knee in Lazio's Coppa Italia game with Modena and has recently has undergone a series of tests.

Medical staff from the club have confirmed that the injury is not as serious as first suspected and that no signs of lesions have been detected.

However, the pacey wide-man is still suffering pain and seems unlikely to declared fit for the difficult encounter with Internazionale.
