Milan's Oddo talks stall

Milan's talks to sign Lazio defender Massimo Oddo have reached a stalemate.

Milan have revealed that talks to sign Lazio defender Massimo Oddo have reached a stalemate.

The Italy international started his career with Milan and is hoping to return to the San Siro in January's transfer window.

Lazio are willing to sell for the right price, but Rossoneri chief officer Adriano Galliani admits the two clubs are currently far apart in their valuation.

"The negotiation for Massimo Oddo's signature is at a stalemate," said Galliani.

"There are still quite a good number of millions that divide our offer from Lazio's requests."

While negotiations have reached an impasse, Lazio remain willing to come to an agreement to allow Oddo to join Milan.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito said: "Milan asked Lazio for the possibility to open negotiations for Oddo.

"Considering the player's request, who wanted to close his career with Milan because he was born as a player with those colours, Lazio gave their assent to see if it's possible to allow this wish to become true.

"With Galliani, there is a feeling of friendship. No one obliges us to do things and no one forbids it.

"Should there be the conditions, we will close the affair, otherwise we won't do it."
