Ancelotti: Fortune favours the brave

MILAN coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that his side were fortunate to escape with a win against Parma.

A tight match was ultimately decided by two Andrea Pirlo penalties, but Ancelotti was pleased that his side showed the grit and determination to carve out a win.

"Parma deserved the draw," admitted Ancelotti.

"We have been fortunate but also determined in the difficult moments."

Ancelotti also talked of Fabio Capello's outburst about biased refereeing for the northern clubs.

"Capello polemics? I can only say that I am happy to be at Milan and to coach in Italy.

"I would also like to say that a referee's job is not easy."

Losing coach Cesare Prandelli was understandably disappointed to have come away from the match with nothing.

"We have many regrets because we played well an it is a pity we lost.

"We created a lot of chances and caused a big team many problems.

"I don't want to speak about the penalties."
