Pirlo backs Milan to bounce back

ANDREA PIRLO has admitted that Milan are going through a bad spell, but believes that the team will come out of it a stronger outfit.

The Serie A giants have not won for five games in all competitions, and have slipped eight points behind table-toppers Juventus in the quest for Il Scudetto.

However, Pirlo is backing the team to turn around their ailing fortunes.

"I think that Milan aren't living a good moment, especially with our results," said the midfielder.

"We aren't able to score and so we don't reach points.

"Surely, we are disappointed but at the same time we have the conviction of our capabilities, because we won the virtual winter title and until Christmas we were practically perfect.

"Anyway we can come back to the team we were before, if we recover our determination, conviction and luck."

The former Internazionale star added that this weekend's crunch clash with Juve would be the perfect place to rediscover their form.

"The first aim to change things is obviously Saturday's clash with Juventus.

"For us it's fundamental we win against Juve, hoping to recover points and re-open the championship race."
