Juve in for Chevanton

Juventus have made an official approach for Lecce forward Javier Chevanton.

The Uruguay international has enjoyed a fine campaign and was the subject of a meeting on Wednesday between Juve's general manager Luciano Moggi and Lecce's Pantaleo Corvino.

Lecce are reportedly demanding around ‚é¼10 million plus Fabrizio Miccoli in part-exchange as Chevanton is under contract until 2006.

"Nobody has told me anything," the South American striker told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Now I must think of Peru and Colombia for the 2006 World Cup qualifiers.

"After this, I've planned my holidays.

"It is clear that, if Juve do call, I'd swim back to Italy!

"Wearing that shirt would be fantastic. But, until my agent Paco Casal calls me, I won't believe in it.

"He doesn't give me illusions. He will contact me only at the moment of signing."

Milan had previously been linked with a move to Chevanton and it seems he would jump at a move to a bigger club.
