Jorge Vargas has escaped punishment after being seen to spit on Fiorentina's Cristian Brocchi.
Television cameras captured the Chilean defender spitting on Brocchi (pictured) as he lay on the ground injured during the Viola's 3-2 derby victory over Livorno.
But it has been revealed that an administration error means Vargas will not be disciplined for the incident.
Vargas, who initially denied any guilt, had been facing a three-match ban and a fine of ‚é¼2,000 (£1,350).
