CACCIA SET FOR PIACENZA EXIT

PIACENZA are set to offload out-of-favour striker Nicola Caccia in a bid to bring in some funds to strengthen the squad elsewhere.

Caccia has failed to reproduce his superb form of last season this campaign and he has found himself on the sidelines for most of this term.

The striker is third choice of coach Walter Novellino, who likes to play with the front pair of Dario Hubner and Paolo Poggi and Caccia is keen on a move away to get regular first-team football.

Meanwhile Biancorossi defender Alessandro Lucarelli is being chased by Serie A rivals Chievo.

Novellino could replace Lucarelli with long-term target Parma sweeper Amedeo Mangone.

The 33-year-old ace is seen by Novellino as the man who could solve their defensive problems.
